TAF: What's your name and where are you from?
Si Scott: Si Scott / Leeds in the UK
TAF: What do you do?
Si Scott: Designer / Illustrator / Tattoo Artist
TAF: What obstacles did you have to overcome?
Si Scott: Everybody had obstacles in their lives – its how you deal with them that sets you apart. I firmly believe if you want something you have to go out and work for it and just keep trying and trying.
TAF: What sets you apart?
Si Scott: Maybe the fact that most of my work is hand drawn or created by hand in an increasingly digital world.
TAF: How did you get into art?
Si Scott: I got into art as a very young child as I always enjoyed drawing. I Was never very good at school but I was always pretty good at drawing/writing/sport etc… I was really bad at the academic subjects like Maths/ Science…
TAF: How long have you been drawing?
Si Scott: All my life - My earliest memories are of drawing.
TAF: When did you start getting paid work?
Si Scott: I think my first paid commission was 2005 if I remember correctly?!
TAF: How did you get started and tell us the story of how you got your first commissioned job?
Si Scott: After finishing University I worked full-time for 3 years for different design / advertising agencies in London & Manchester. Whilst doing this I did my own work on an evening and kept sending it it to different agencies & taking my portfolio to show people. I took my work into Non-Format and they commissioned me to work on an issue of the WIRE Magazine with them.
TAF: How long do you spend drawing each piece?
Si Scott: Totally depends on what it is. Can range from an hour to a week or more.

Si Scott: Pen & Ink or Tattooing
TAF: What advice would you give to a young artist?
Si Scott: Just keep going & don’t let people put you down

Si Scott: Working for Adidas
TAF: Besides from illustration what else do you enjoy doing?
Si Scott: Spending time with my Dog mostly
